Workers' Compensation in North Carolina
Why I Work With Injured Workers
My interest in workers’ compensation psychiatry is personal.
Years ago, my mother experienced a serious injury at work. Although she received medical treatment—including surgeries and medications—through workers’ comp insurance, she continued to struggle with chronic pain that deeply affected her emotional well-being.
Watching her navigate that journey showed me how much mental health is impacted by physical trauma, life disruption, and the uncertainty that follows. That experience continues to motivate my work as a psychiatrist, supporting individuals facing similar challenges after a workplace injury.
What is the NCIC?
The North Carolina Industrial Commission (NCIC) oversees the state of NC workers’ compensation system, which helps individuals access both medical and mental health care related to work-related injuries.
If you're experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD symptoms, or other emotional struggles after a job-related injury, you may qualify for psychiatric treatment under your employer’s workers’ comp coverage.
As an authorized workers’ compensation psychiatrist, I provide psychiatric evaluations, therapy, and medication management through secure telehealth—with no out-of-pocket cost once your claim is approved.
